Broadcast Journalist Center

For the first time in the country, the Broadcast Journalist Center, Bangladesh, has embarked on its journey through a conference of aspirations and dreams for television media workers. This organization is breaking away from the traditional concept of a professional organization, aiming to simultaneously enhance the skills and welfare of its members, as well as engage in risk management. Additionally, the Broadcast Journalist Center plans to develop economic capacity by leveraging the investments of its members.

The Dream Journey's Inception

In response to the call made by Shakil Ahmed, head of news at Ekattor TV, various television workers came together to establish a welfare platform for broadcasting workers. On March 22, 2018, they convened a general meeting at the World Literature Center to bring this dream to life. Through extensive planning and discussions, the organization's nature, objectives, policies, management methods, procedures, and programs were drafted.

As a result, a trust was formed to manage the organization, and the individuals who would serve as trustees were determined. With unanimous agreement, Rezwanul Haque, head of news at Maasranga TV, Shakil Ahmed, head of news at Ekattor TV, and Manas Ghosh, the news editor of ATN Bangla, were finalized as the chairman and treasurer of the proposed trustee, respectively.

Furthermore, the legal aspect was handled by Supreme Court lawyer Barrister Tanjib-ul-Alam from a legal firm, who facilitated the creation of the trust agreement. The legal process for establishing the Broadcast Journalist Center was completed, and the trust agreement was officially registered on January 22.
